Counseling Background |
Alexa's journey as a therapist has been shaped by diverse clinical experiences that have deepened her understanding of mental health across different settings and populations. At Banyan, she conducts comprehensive diagnostic assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, and maintains a thriving practice serving children, teens, and adults of all ages.
Previously, as a Child and Adolescent Therapist at Key Point Health Services, Alexa managed a caseload of up to 80 clients, providing individual and family therapy while collaborating with schools, the Department of Social Services, and Court Appointed Special Advocates to ensure comprehensive care. This experience gave her valuable insight into the multifaceted needs of children and families navigating complex systems. Alexa's extensive background in educational settings, particularly as a Hebrew School Teacher at multiple institutions including Temple Emanuel and Congregation Beth Israel, has enhanced her ability to understand the unique challenges faced by school-aged children and adolescents. Having worked as both a Kindergarten Teacher and Judaic Studies Teacher, she brings a rich understanding of child development and educational environments to her therapeutic work. This foundation allows her to effectively support clients with school-related concerns, social difficulties, and developmental transitions. |

Personal Life |
Outside of my therapeutic practice at Banyan, I enjoy crochet and have recently been creating Woobles— animals that bring joy to both the making and giving. I value community connection and education, which is reflected in my years of teaching in various Hebrew schools and religious education settings. I believe in the importance of continuous learning and growth, both professionally and personally. When not working with clients, I can be found exploring Winston-Salem's vibrant community, engaging in creative pursuits, and nurturing my own well-being through meaningful connections and self-care practices.
I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward healing and growth at Banyan Tree Counseling. |
