Jaimie is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with experience working with a broad range of presenting concerns. She believes that through authentic, healing relationships we can begin to let go of barriers that keep us distant from others, our needs, and our sources of meaning in life. Jaimie has a diverse occupational background in the fields of counseling, education, academic research, and public health. Her clinical experience is drawn from a variety of outpatient settings in both Houston, TX and the Triad area of NC. She approaches all areas of life with a commitment to a set of ethics in alignment with larger projects of abolition and decolonization. |
Qualifications |
Jaimie is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC #15537) approved by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (NCBLCMHC). In 2019, Jaimie graduated from the University of Houston with her MEd in Counseling. She also holds a BA in Sociology and the Study of Women, Gender, & Sexuality from Rice University. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Counseling and Counselor Education at UNC Greensboro.

During her master’s program, Jaimie completed her clinical internship at the Montrose Center in Houston, TX, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering LGBTQIA+ and HIV+ individuals and their families. There, she managed a case load of clients seeking individual therapy and couples counseling, conducted clinical assessments, supported new clients experiencing situations of crisis, facilitated support groups for LGBTQIA+ individuals who were seeking support in coming out, and co-facilitated therapeutic groups for those struggling with substance use and recovery from trauma. Jaimie has also provided counseling services to students at UNCG in the Nicholas A. Vacc Clinic and at the Counseling Center at Guilford College. Jaimie has worked with individuals and couples at Banyan Tree Counseling since 2020.

Jaimie has experience working with a diverse population of clients experiencing variety of presenting concerns, some of which include anxiety, depression, life transitions, family of origin conflict, conflicts related to faith and spirituality, personality disorders, and changes in family and romantic relationship structure. She has specialized knowledge in working with queer, transgender, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming clients and is well-versed in WPATH Standards of Care. She also specializes in working with clients who experience acute and complex trauma, dissociation, and multiplicity. Jaimie offers neurodiversity affirming and trauma-informed care using modalities of treatment which are experiential, relational, and body-oriented in nature.
As a leading mental health professional in North Carolina, Jaimie stands out as one of the state's foremost specialists in Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). With a profound dedication to understanding and treating this complex condition, she brings a unique expertise that sets her apart. Jaimie's commitment to supporting individuals with DID makes her a valuable resource, offering specialized care in a state where such expertise is not only rare but highly sought after. She is currently a Somatic Experiencing® student at the intermediate level. |
Personal Life |
Jaimie lives with her partner in Greensboro, NC. In her free time, she enjoys cooking for loved ones, reading both fiction and nonfiction, trying new foods, traveling to new cities and outdoor settings, and appreciating all forms of art.
