Personal Life |
Jamia spends a majority of her time engaged with her two energetic and curious children, ages 10 and 6 years old. Living in Asheville, NC and growing up in Brevard, NC, she grew to appreciate the tranquility and peace provided by the outdoors. Jamia’s experience growing up in a small town with minimal diversity empowered her to challenge systems and increase awareness of the impact of racial trauma on one’s individual experience and sense of self.
Spending time with family and friends is where Jamia finds her peace. A good cookout, hike, or adventure trying various cultural cuisines is right up her alley. Traveling is also a favorite pastime of Jamia’s, but it’s a must that sun and clear water be involved! Throw in a good Netflix binge - Good Girls, Vampire Diaries, or She’s Gotta Have it - to ensure a complete day of relaxation! |
