Jane is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate who has experience working with a wide range of ages and backgrounds. She believes mental health starts with the nervous system and that adaptability is at the heart of wellness. Through connection and co-regulation, therapy can empower an individual to harness their innate human ability to move through their suffering into a space of contented curiosity and find greater ease of being with what is. She holds at her core that all people are inherently worthy of being seen, heard, and understood. Jane holds each client in unconditional positive regard and seeks to meet them exactly where they are, knowing that each client has wisdom inside of them waiting to be trusted.
Qualifications |
Jane graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She holds a BS in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy and Religion from Western Carolina University. She has completed training specific to the Polyvagal approach to therapy, and is currently attending training in Brainspotting and looks forward to utilizing this effective method with her patients.

Background |
During her master’s program, Jane completed her clinical internship at a community mental health agency, Youth Haven Services, in Greensboro, Asheboro, and Reidsville NC. This allowed her to gain experience working with children and adolescents experiencing a range of mental health difficulties at a range of developmental stages. She offered both individual and group therapy, conducted clinical assessments, facilitated a support group for teens experiencing complicated grief, and facilitated skills groups providing education about the nervous system and vagal regulation. Prior to counseling experience, Jane worked in holistic wellness, managing a spa for 3 years, and working as a private yoga instructor beginning in 2013.

Jane approaches counseling from a polyvagal-informed lens infusing the therapeutic space with both nervous system and somatic-based work. She has focused experience with complex and relational trauma, anxiety disorders, and day-to-day stress. She concentrates self-study on therapeutic approaches to existential exploration, adoption, and ruptured attachment. Additionally, Jane has completed phase 1 & 2 training in Brainspotting, which allows her to offer clients a means of reprocessing trauma in a gentle and organic way. Jane works primarily with adolescents and emerging adults.

Personal Life |
Jane lives with her husband, dog, and toddler in Greensboro, NC. Born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains, she ventures outdoors for most of her free time enjoying gardening, hiking, canoeing, paddleboarding, and simply witnessing nature. Jane is an avid DIY-er and is almost always wrapped up in a home renovation project. When she’s not chasing a toddler or rebuilding her cabinets, Jane can be found reading (nonfiction) or watching documentaries.
