Raised across the country and abroad in a military family, Sharon brings nearly two decades of experience in mental health, education, and organizational leadership to Banyan Tree Counseling & Wellness. Her career began in therapeutic programming, where she discovered a deep passion for supporting both individuals and the systems that shape their growth.
Sharon earned her Master of Science in Organization Development with a focus on resilience in individuals and groups-- an emphasis that continues to guide her work today. Her systemic, consultative approach blends human connection with organizational health, helping teams and clients alike reach their fullest potential. Before joining Banyan, Sharon served in several residential and therapeutic settings, including SUWS, where she witnessed firsthand the profound and lasting change that intentional, compassionate care can create.
At Banyan, Sharon leads with heart and clarity, ensuring that the organization’s culture, policies, and people practices reflect the same compassion and integrity we offer our clients. She’s also deeply committed to social justice and serves on the Board of Directors for the Gender Education and Demystification Symposium (GEMS), a not-for-profit that oversees an annual conference designed to offer a clinical and educational perspective regarding gender identity.
Outside of work, Sharon lives in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where she enjoys spending time outdoors and with her friends. In her spare time, Sharon can be found nurturing her garden, crafting, and snuggling with her cat, Ethel.
