she/her/ella
Yubi is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. She is of Mexican heritage and speaks Spanish fluently. Yubi is trained to work with couples and families facing challenges and seeks to improve their communication and connection. Yubi has worked with individuals who have experienced anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, difficulties with life transitions, and women’s health. Yubi believes that there is no one-way road to healing; there are many paths that lead us there. However, to reach this optimal state, one needs to understand oneself. That can be achieved by exploring our inner dialogues with curiosity, compassion, self- acceptance, and a willingness to grow. Yubi’s theoretical framework stems from a holistic person-centered approach. She focuses on cultivating a strong therapeutic relationship with clients by demonstrating empathy, unconditional positive regard, respect, genuineness, and vulnerability.

Background |
Yubi has expanded her clinical experience in her advanced practicum by working with individuals facing challenges with life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, women’s health, and loss. As an advocate, Yubi had the unique opportunity to work with students, parents, teachers, staff, and professors in higher ed spaces. Working with these individuals gave her insight into the many challenges and barriers families faced as they navigated life transitions and family difficulties. Through her former career, clinical work, and personal experience, Yubi discovered her true vocation to work with couples, families, women, and individuals who seek to improve their relationships, mental health, and overall well-being.
|
Specialization |
Although Yubi specializes in working with couples and families, she is passionate about working with individuals who seek healing. She empowers her clients to seek the best version of themselves while embracing their intersectionality. Yubi's goal is to create a safe space where clients can be authentic while expressing and exploring their thoughts without fear of judgment. Areas of interest include sex therapy, helping women during the perinatal and postpartum period, working with young adults and adolescents, and healing generational trauma.
