she/her
Yubi is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern. She is of Mexican heritage and speaks Spanish fluently. Yubi is trained to work with couples and families facing challenges and seeks to improve their communication and connection. Yubi has worked with individuals

Yubi believes that there is not a one-way road to healing, there are many ways that lead us there. However, to reach this optimal state one needs to understand ourselves. That can be achieved by exploring our inner dialogues with curiosity, compassion, self-acceptance, and willingness to grow. Yubi’s theoretical framework stems from a holistic person-centered approach. She focuses on cultivating a strong therapeutic relationship with clients by demonstrating empathy, unconditional positive regard, respect, genuineness, and vulnerability.

Her immigrant background and service to the Latino and immigrant community have greatly influenced her career path and motivation to work in the non-profit sector and higher education spaces for the past 15 years. Yubi is pursuing her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling; she is anticipated to graduate in the spring of 2025 with honors. Additionally, she has completed her certification as a Gottman Method Couples Therapist for levels 1 & 2.

Background |
Yubi has expanded her clinical experience in her advanced practicum by working with individuals facing challenges with life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, women’s health, and loss. As an advocate, Yubi had the unique opportunity to work with students, parents, teachers, staff, and professors in higher ed spaces. Working with these individuals gave her insight into the many challenges and barriers families faced as they navigated life transitions and family difficulties. Through her former career, clinical work, and personal experience, Yubi discovered her true vocation to work with couples, families, women, and individuals who seek to improve their relationships, mental health, and overall well-being.

Specialization |
Although Yubi specializes in working with couples and families, she is passionate about working with individuals who seek healing and want to feel mentally healthy. She empowers her clients to seek the best version of themselves while embracing their intersectionality.
Yubi's goal is to create a safe space where clients can be authentic while expressing and exploring their thoughts without fear of judgment. Areas of interest include sex therapy, helping women during the perinatal and postpartum period, working with young adults and adolescents, and healing generational trauma. |
Personal Life |
Yubi resides in Greensboro with her husband, two children, and their yorkie, Milo. She loves spending time with her husband, two spunky children, and extended family on the weekends. One of their favorite family trips is to escape to the mountains to take in the fall scenery. During her downtime, she enjoys running, and yoga. In the summer and fall months, she can be found with her family dancing at the Noches Latinas in downtown Greensboro!
