Banyan Tree Counseling Fees & Insurance
Information regarding in-network coverage, out-of-network reimbursement, and our financial policies.

We accept some health insurance plans (see below). If you do not have health insurance (or we are not in-network with your insurance policy), our Out-of-Pocket Rate ranges from $150-$300 per session. These rates are fairly standard among licensed psychiatric and counseling professionals in our area.
Please Note: We do not accept insurance for Couples & Relationship Counseling or Family Therapy.
If you are interested in a reduced rate, we offer appointments with our Counselors-in-Training for $40/session. (Our interns/counselors-in-training do not accept insurance).

You may still get reimbursed! Many of our clients use their PPO insurance plans to obtain reimbursement for our services, even if we are out-of-network. We will provide you with a "superbill"—a detailed receipt for services with all applicable insurance codes listed. You can submit this directly to your insurance company for reimbursement.

You can cancel or reschedule an appointment any time, as long as you provide at least 48 hours notice. If you cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice, or fail to show up, you will be charged a late cancellation fee of $95.
Why is your cancellation policy like this?
Your clinician sets aside a whole hour for you. If a cancellation pops up within 24 hours, it's tough to fill that spot from our wait-list, and your clinician loses out on a valuable hour. Because insurance will not cover missed appointments, when you cancel within 24 hours, your clinician isn't paid. Our policy is not a form of punishment, but a necessary boundary to ensure we can consistently deliver excellent care. -
Payment is due at the time of service, and a credit card is required to be kept on file at all times. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. If you would like to pay using cash or check, payment must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

Our rates reflect the high level of medical expertise and specialized oversight provided by our psychiatric team.
Initial Psychiatric Evaluation: $300 – $400.
Medication Management Follow-up: $150 – $250 per session.
Note: Out-of-pocket rates are standard for licensed psychiatric professionals in our area. Please contact our Billing Administrator, Christal Stewart, to confirm your specific costs.
