Amber is licensed in the states of NC and SC and has 12 years of experience in mental health. Trained in EMDR, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Amber has extensive experience with complex trauma, depression, suicidal and self-harming clients, adults, children age 4+, teens, and families.
Life has its moments of feeling adrift and isolated, whether through loss, change, relationships, or societal shifts. Therapy offers a haven to explore what brings us purpose and connection. As a therapist, I find profound beauty in witnessing people's resilience—seeing them navigate through even the darkest times.
Psychologist Robert Johnson's words capture my philosophy: "It's not too difficult to get the skeletons out of the closet with people, but to get the gold out is a different matter. That is therapy. Psychology is the Art of finding the gold of the spirit."
My approach, rooted in collaboration, respect, and validation, remains consistent across various therapeutic models. If you're seeking a companion on your journey to uncover the "gold of the spirit," I would be honored to walk that path with you.

Specialization |
Amber brings a wealth of expertise, delving into proven therapeutic models such as TF-CBT for children and adolescents, EMDR, and DBT. These approaches have been the compass guiding her through a diverse range of clients and concerns. EMDR, a meticulously researched therapy method, stands as a powerful ally in helping individuals recover from trauma and PTSD. Ongoing research not only affirms its effectiveness in trauma but also highlights its positive impact on issues like anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, addictions, and other challenging life experiences.
DBT, a structured psychotherapy program, offers more than just insights—it equips individuals with skills to navigate intense emotions and navigate social relationships. Meanwhile, TF-CBT, tailored for children, adolescents, and their caregivers impacted by trauma, operates as a components-based treatment model. It blends trauma-sensitive interventions with cognitive-behavioral, family, and humanistic principles, forming a comprehensive approach that addresses various dimensions of well-being. Amber's mastery of these methods transforms therapy into a dynamic and tailored journey toward healing. |
