Support Group for Parents of Teens - Virtual
Are you stuck in a back-and-forth, frustrating dynamic with your child?

Do you want to learn how to emotionally attune, set limits, diffuse power-struggles, and promote accountability while also nurturing your parent-child bond?

Parenting may be the hardest job in the world, and the teenage years are, by their very nature, a struggle. Teens are charged with the important and challenging tasks of developing personal identity and learning how to navigate increasingly more complex social environments. Throw in an undeveloped prefrontal cortex, hormones, and an increased urge for independence and conflict is almost inevitable.
Did you know conflict between parents and teens can be viewed as a good thing? This group will help you seize those frustrating moments and start developing more effective and healthy ways to communicate. Although it may not feel. like it now, with expert support and guidance, the relationship between you and your teen CAN improve!
When: This 5-week group will take place each Monday from 5-6pm
Dates: Mondays for 5 weeks beginning Jan 31, 2022, skipping the week of 2/14/21. Dates are as follows:
Cost: $40 per session. Total for all 5 sessions, $200 is required to register.
Facilitator: Sarah Vanderpool, MA, LCMHCA. Sarah is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate specializing in Children, Teens, and Parenting, and has an extensive background in working with youth and families as a licensed psychotherapist, school counselor, college and career counselor, and athletic coach for the past decade. She utilizes a mix of solution-focused therapy, CBT, and person-centered therapy to help her clients manage their lives more effectively and grow to meet their fullest potential.
