**Zen Kids Group will be meeting in our Westgate Center Dr. office! **
The pre-teen years (ages 8-12) can be a difficult time for children as they undergo the transition to adolescence. By participating in this group, tweens will learn mindfulness skills to promote positive emotions of self-acceptance, improve emotional and cognitive awareness, increase focus on present situations, and reduce feelings of anxiety.
This group will help your tween:
When: This 6-week group takes place each Thursday at 4:00pm for 60 minutes.
Dates: Thursdays for 6 weeks beginning October 6, 2022:
Cost: $40 per session. Total for all 6 sessions, $240 is required to register.
Facilitator: Catia Gittard, MSW, LCSW. Catia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in Children and Teens, and has been working in mental health for the past decade. As a former teacher, she enjoys working with kids and families struggling with anxiety, depression, bullying/social issues, mood swings, difficulties with boundaries, and self-esteem. She has an authentic, warm, and interactive style, utilizing person-centered, mindfulness, and evidence based-techniques.
This group will help your tween:
- Develop healthy coping skills to manage anxiety
- Understand anxiety and depression
- Strengthen emotion regulation and academic performance through mindfulness practice
- Improve communication and social skills
- Identify their emotions and express their thoughts, feelings, and needs in a healthy, productive way
- Improve mood, increase feelings of self-efficacy and satisfaction
- Increase confidence, self-esteem and empower kids to be successful
